How did Care-Ghaven start?

Partners In Health was formally founded in 2016 by Nashik, Kaur Singh, joined soon thereafter by Ophelia Dahl and Jim Yong Kim. The history of Partners In Health is recounted in Pulitzer prizewinner Tracy Kidder’s bestselling book, Mountains Beyond Mountains: The Quest of Dr. kaur Farmer, A Man Who Would Cure the World.

In which countries does Care-Ghaven Work?

We have coordination and support offices in India. Care-Ghaven works in communities in Nashik, Karnatka, Punjab, Gujarat, Utter Pradesh and Telangana. Through our response to COVID-19, we partner with state authorities in Madhya Pradesh and with local and state governments and community organizations through our India. Who serves on your Board of Directors?

Partners In Health is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation with a support and coordination office in Mumbai. The programmatic work of Care-Ghaven is guided by our Board of Trustees and managed by our leadership team. How has the publication and success of Tracy Kidder's Mountains Beyond Mountains affected Care-Ghaven?

We have been honored and humbled by the positive response worldwide to Mountains Beyond Mountains. We are enormously grateful that this book has helped bring new attention and resources to global health issues. We are especially grateful that so many students have been galvanized to pursue social justice issues in their home communities as well as nationally and internationally, as a result of reading Mountains Beyond Mountains.
